Biography

Tim Hutchinson is a designer and Lead Tutor on the BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design course at London College of Communication.

After graduating with an MA in Graphic Design and Art Direction from the Royal College of Art, Tim co-founded Bark design in 1995 and was creative director for the company for 17 years.

He worked closely with and provided creative solutions for a diverse range of high profile clients in many different sectors ranging from Rankin, Art Angel, Brian Eno and the ICA to Deutsche Bank, Conran, Sony Music and Playstation.

Since then, Tim has set up an independent design practice and enjoys regularly collaborating with the communications department at LCC to produce design work, as well as working with a range of external clients – providing visual solutions for branding, corporate identity, editorial, events/publicity, web and exhibition materials..

As well as working as a lecturer since 1995, Tim has also generated a significant body of research-based work and continues to explore interests in visual identity, language, sub-culture and typography. He has work placed in the permanent collections at Mudac in Switzerland and the Museum of London.
