Biography

Angela Michanitzi is a creative director, visual communicator and is the Course Leader on the BA (Hons) Illustration and Visual Media course at London College of Communication.

Angela has been teaching at UAL for the last 16 years for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. She was the Year 1 Leader for BA (Hons) Design for Digital Media course for 10 years before joining BA (Hons) Illustration and Visual Media at LCC.

Angela’s methodology of teaching fuses traditional techniques with digital skills and methods. Through her industry connections Angela has helped graduate students to connect with clients, design studios and advertising agencies.

She specialises in design for print, design for web, information design, conceptualising for advertising, branding and identity, art directing, typography, font creation, digital art, illustration, R&D, user interface design, interactive design, social media, mobile apps, future technologies, dance, consulting, lecturing, training and public speaking.

Other than teaching at LCC, Angela is also the Creative Director and Co-founder of AVMC Studios – a design studio that specialises in bespoke campaigns for start-up companies and multinational big hitters. Past clients include the BBC, Panasonic, Sony, LG, Google, Saatchi and Saatchi and Leo Burnett. Recent projects include a start-up educational game for the UK and US high school music educational curriculum, commissioned by the conductor of the European Philharmonic Orchestra and creative direction of a national charity.

Angela has given public lectures at Google Campus on Digital Branding and Digital Advertising.

Angela’s research interests include new technologies, generative art, temporal typography, interactive performance, psychology of the masses, wearable tech, sociology, projection mapping, 3d printing, virtual and augmented reality.
