Biography

Amanda Jenkins is the Interim Dean/ Associate Dean of Design at London College of Communication (LCC).

Originally trained in Illustration and Graphic Design, she practised in this field professionally before going into full time arts education.

Amanda is a qualified teacher with over 25 years' experience of teaching, leadership and management in Further and Higher Education, and has taught Art & Design in a number of contexts including at the Victoria and Albert Museum and Tate Galleries London.

She is also an experienced external examiner at further education and undergraduate level. Amanda joined University of Arts London in 2007 and has worked in a number of Academic and leadership roles at Camberwell and London College of Fashion before taking up her current role at LCC in 2019.

Amanda has an MA in Art and Design in Education at the Institute of Education, London UCL. Her teaching and research interests are currently focussed on contextual and theoretical studies, drawing practice and pedagogy, and museum/object-based learning.

She is a member of the drawing-on-site research group Reportager, based at University of West England, and a trustee of the Felix Topolski Archives.
