Biography

Nancy Platt is an Associate Lecturer on MA Documentary Film at London College of Communication.

Nancy started out working in UK broadcast television, eventually directing documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4 on issues ranging from the 'Comfort Women' of South Korea, to the laws on prescribing heroin in Liverpool.

More recently, Nancy has been making non-broadcast films for NGOs, charities, and the Open University. Her clients include Comic Relief, Christian Aid, the Institute of Development Studies and The Fairtrade Foundation.

A West African Story, her film about a Liberian refugee camp in Ghana won the UNICEF Prize for “an outstanding presentation of the lives of children in difficult circumstances”.
