Description

This course has been designed for anyone interested in reprographics and digital printing. It will be very useful for graphic designers and marketing professionals who want to know how they can accurately and effectively work with files for digital print.

The course will cover types of files and formats such as InDesign and PhotoShop. You will learn how you can scan files for high quality output. The tutor will show you, how you can manipulate and present files for accurate colour reproduction. Finally you will look at digital file output covering sizes, paper types and finishing.

Course Outcomes

By the end of the course you should be able to:

  • Create pages for publishing
  • Understand colour reproduction
  • Produce files for digital printing

Level
Beginner: You should have basic Mac or PC skills. 


Tutor information

James Mcbride has 30 years experience as a technician at UAL with particular study in teaching and supporting various pre-printing processes and many years in the publishing industry. He has a degree in book and magazine production, a postgraduate certificate in teaching and learning, and an MSc in digital imaging.
