Thalia is studying on BA (Hons) Graphic Branding and Identity at London College of Communication.

How would you describe your practice (e.g. are you a photographer, designer, illustrator etc)?

My practice includes branding, packaging design and art direction.

Where are you from in the world?

Singapore

Why did you choose to study this course and why LCC?

I have always been curious about how brands come about and why brands are important in our society. LCC has maintain a great image throughout the years, also they have a wide range of facilities to experiment with.

What was your first impression of LCC when you joined?

Very happening!

And what’s your favourite thing about LCC now?

The screenprinting department.

What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on through your course so far?

On a fashion lookbook.

What important piece of advice would you give to students thinking of studying this course?

Be yourself. Be open to ideas. Keep up with current trends, technology, media.

What three words would you use to best describe LCC?

Resourceful, funky, lovable

Where are you working at the moment and what are some recent interesting projects you’ve worked on?

Currently, I am working on an industrial brief, to create a suncream produced by NASA. The idea has to be presented in a packaging format which I am very excited about.

For my recent projects, I've created a travel app which allows travellers to connect and form a community. Another fun project I've worked on is a fashion lookbook which enables me to experiment on photography and art direction.

Could you describe your style or what you try to achieve with your work?

My style is simple yet chic. I always try to connect both my work and audience by making them relatable.

Name three things you couldn't be creative without:

Food, camera, pencil

If you could work with any client in the world, who would it be and what would you want to work on?

McDonalds. A hearty meal that touches your heart.

How have you found living in London, and where’s your favourite place to explore?

Chill. Shoreditch area.
