We caught up with Amelia Spinks on her recent placement at We Are Social. Read on to hear from her perspective.

“My MA in PR at LCC opened the door to this experience, and WeAreSocial showed me where I truly thrive — connecting ideas, creating with purpose, and collaborating with people who value individuality. I left feeling inspired, capable, and ready for what’s next.”

During her research on the course, Amelia came across We Are Social, one of London’s leading social media agencies. Their forward-thinking and inclusive approach to social media strategy and culture inspired her to apply. This placement became a direct extension of Amelia’s studies, enabling her to put theory into practice and experience the pace, creativity, and collaboration of agency life first-hand.

At WeAreSocial, she experienced a taste of work across departments including Strategy, Creative, Design, Editorial, Production, and Client Services, gaining invaluable insight into how a global agency operates and how collaboration and inclusivity drive great work.

“Naturally, I gravitated toward the creative team, where I contributed to idea generation, research, and execution. This was where I truly thrived — connecting concepts, shaping ideas, and seeing them evolve from initial sparks into fully formed campaigns. Seeing our final pitch come to life was both exciting and empowering, and the feedback we received was an incredible confidence boost."

“The experience built confidence, refined my skills and was truly motivating — reinforcing my passion for creative collaboration and social-first storytelling.”
