To mark their 30 years anniversary, Mud Australia partnered with emerging creatives from the London College of Communication to create in-store multimedia exhibitions for London Craft Week 2025.

They collaborated with MA Design for Art Direction students who were tasked with creating proposals honouring Mud Australia's heritage in handmade porcelain, reimagining it within the context of London’s vibrant creative landscape. This partnership celebrated the brand's shared commitment to sustainability, design and the value of considered collaborative making.

More than 60 students responded to this brief working in teams, under the guidance of course leader Lucy Sanderson. The Mud Australia team provided feedback throughout the project and selected two winning teams whose proposals best celebrated craft, design, and community.

The two selected teams, took over the Mud Australia stores locations in Marylebone and Islington, filling them with installations and presenting a series of four activations during London Craft Week 2025, which included a floral workshop, a still life design workshop, a talk and a terrazzo workshop.

The Mud Australia team have been an absolute pleasure to work with. Our shared vision—to integrate the Mud Australia brand into academic discourse by showcasing student work in-store, hosting student-curated workshops, and delivering a panel discussion—has been an inspiring and rewarding experience for everyone involved.

— Lucy Sanderson, MA Design for Art Direction Senior Lecturer
Seeing the final installation in the store’s window display, in the heart of London, validated all the hard work. London Craft Week is such a respected platform, and having my work featured as part of it adds a new level of visibility and recognition to what I do.

— Elisa Corbetta, MA Design for Art Direction Student
