Biography

Caitlin is an artist, researcher and educator. She has worked at a range of universities as a senior lecturer and researcher in the fields of art, design and architecture. Before returning to LCC, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Architecture at The University of Cambridge. She is currently a senior lecturer on BA (Hons) Interaction Design.

Transdisciplinary in approach, Caitlin’s socially engaged practice encompasses graphic design, architecture, fine art, auto-theoretical writing, performance, film and photography, and interaction design. Irrespective of media, Caitlin’s work consistently explores how class, queerness, sexuality, gender, race, health, and education shapes access to secure and equitable employment, and everything that is enabled (or not) through secure and equitably paid work.

Caitlin is actively engaged in research practices. She has presented her praxis at a range of conferences and events, most recently at the 5th ISA Forum of Sociology in Rabat, Morocco (2025). She is a member of the Centre for Research in Sound Art Practice at University of the Arts London and the Community Design Research Lab at The University of Cambridge. Last year, she was awarded a British Council Venice Biennale Fellowship (2024). Current projects include the Public Map Platform, exhibited at the Venice Biennale of Architecture (2025), the Berlin Listening Biennale in September (2025) and working with The Women’s Research Wananga curating a group exhibited entitled “consumed’ due to be exhibited at The Art House Jersey in October (2025).
