The White Show is the inaugural chance for BA Fashion’s first year students to show their work. Each student is limited to using only the colour white and a selection of two materials, felt and cotton. Taking place on the first and second floors of the college, students and staff watch from wherever they can. This year the students based the show around an exploration of a present day dystopia dominated by totalitarian governments, taking inspiration from current affairs, issues surrounding governmental surveillance, Orwell’s ‘Nineteen Eighty-Four’ and Simmel’s ‘The Metropolis and Mental Life’.
