The White Show is an annual project in which first year BA Fashion Design students, from across all pathways, each create one look out of white fabric. The show is then devised and produced by BA Fashion Communication: Fashion Communication and Promotion students with the event taking place in the last week of the first term, just before the Christmas break. In a change to the tradition, this year saw the show become part of the prestigious BFC Fashion Awards at London's Royal Albert Hall.
The models walked as Little Simz performed accompanied by the London Contemporary Orchestra. Speaking to Vogue, Simz said: "to have emerging talent from Central Saint Martins be a part of [the performance] in such an amazing setting was incredible."
After the show, BA Fashion Course Leader Sarah Gresty paid tribute to her students:
"To all BA Fashion First Years, what we saw on Monday at the Royal Albert Hall was a testament and a credit to the hard work of your first term at Central Saint Martins. We congratulate you on your efforts, care, consideration, extra hours work, editing, recruiting your FABULOUS models, amending and understanding to make this happen. We were extremely proud to showcase your work on the world’s fashion stage. It was an immense spectacle to open the fashion awards. A massive well done."
