We are thrilled to announce that the William Morris Gallery has generously agreed to transfer Grace Wales Bonner’s SS25 Calypso dress, featuring a distinctive floral pattern by Trinidadian textile designer Althea McNish, to the CSM Museum & Study Collection

The dress is currently on display as part of the Gallery's Women in Print exhibition and will enter the archive of the CSM Museum & Study Collection once the exhibition completes its tour.

A BA Fashion Design with Marketing (now Fashion Design: Communication) graduate and winner of the L’Oréal Professionnel Young Designer Award, Bonner has become one of the most influential voices in contemporary fashion.

Through her namesake label, she has built an international reputation for work that weaves together craftsmanship, culture and identity with detail and precision.

Althea McNish, alumni of the London School of Printing and RCA, attended evening classes at Central Saint Martins. Her work was inspired by her life in Trinidad and the UK, making use of vibrant colours and floral patterns.

We could not be happier about this acquisition! This beautiful garment will be first acquisition we have showcasing the talent of Grace Wales Bonner, and will help us to celebrate two important alumni in one fell swoop.
