Metaphonica III

Metaphonica III: songs of protest and resistance landed in the College. Here we gather together glimpses of what happens when art, politics and live music collide. 

Curated by Dan White, this year’s event brought together students, staff, alumni and friends of the Fine Art programme for an extravaganza of performance and protest.

Highlights included Bamboo Mustard, an interactive performance by Adam Paroussos (Performance Design and Practice), which saw members of the audience learn to play homemade instruments including a tree branch turned violin. BA Fine Art’s Charlie Wood’s powerful poetic piece ‘HYENA’, Penny Rimbaud’s ensemble performance of his latest work ‘Oh America’ and of course, this (see below) memorable performance by Art Programme Leader, Alex Schady.

Alex Schady paid tribute to Drew Goorney, a BA Fine student who sadly passed away earlier this year. Drew performed in the first edition of Metaphonica and his music was celebrated with a screening of this initial performance.
