Biography

I am an architect trained at the Canterbury School of Architecture and the Bartlett School of Architecture, working predominantly on Participatory Action Research and inclusive regeneration that address socio-economic inequalities. I am also interested in the Urban Commons as alternatives to the privatisation and commodification of buildings and spaces stemming from neo-liberalism.

I am a director of Deft.Space, an interdisciplinary architecture, design and research practice. Current projects include the Canning Town estate regeneration and a design research project on Rye Lane in Peckham as part of the London Borough of Southwark’s High Street Recovery Fund. Deft.Space is featured in the Architecture Foundation’s ‘New Architects 4’ publication.

I have taught at the Brighton School of Architecture, Technology and Engineering, and at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University. I am a member of the London Borough of Newham’s Design Review Panel and a member of the Urban Design London’s Environmental Design Review Panel. I am also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
