Biography

My design practice focuses on the boundaries between hand and digital design techniques for printed textiles, designed through the exploration of both traditional print process and digital production technologies.

My research is concerned with the notion of design and participation; user-centred making to foster more connectivity and attachment through personal experience. Democratising the design process, My re-surface wallpapers and patterns encourage the user to ‘join in’ creating pattern and image to complete the design. This process of allowing the user to design and aims to generate greater connectedness with a product, the process of making and participate in increasing the longevity and life cycle of consumer products.

I am also a member of the Textiles Future Research Centre (TFRC) at Central Saint Martins and I am co-Founder of Studio Houndstooth and ‘The Houndstooth Project’ with textile designer Philippa Brock, a textile and materials, collaborative, cross-disciplinary research studio.

My work has been exhibited and is included in the V&A Prints collection and has featured in publications and journals.
