Florence Stanley

I am fascinated by emergent behaviours in complex systems — how individual components interact to create something greater than the sum of their parts. This fascination led me to complete a PhD in mathematical modelling of cellular signalling pathways at UCL and has since shaped my career helping startups design and build systems that connect people, information, and purpose toward social and environmental impact. Over the past decade, I have specialised in translating complex technical challenges into meaningful solutions. Now I am ready to grow beyond my technical expertise, learning how to lead organisations that tackle the sustainability and socioeconomic challenges that matter most to me, while building the kind of inclusive cultures where everyone can thrive.

Hajer Ahmad

I am a Toronto-raised creative, born in Baghdad. From an early age, I knew I wanted to create. However, I lacked the connection to my homeland, my roots, and my beginning. Driven by this ambition, I set out a path that aligned with my skills and would allow me to pursue my dream of entrepreneurship. My journey began with volunteering to support my community, which ultimately led to a career in HR. Although I gained valuable insights, I felt a persistent void that solidified my desire to create. Eventually, I found fulfilment in jewellery making, an art that allowed me to channel my creativity. This passion led me to start my brand, Doumi. I aspire to create wearable art that expresses individuality and resonates with people. Pursuing an MBA is the next step in bridging my professional aspirations with my creative endeavours. I see it as a unique intersection where artistic expression and business acumen meet. I’m seeking not only the technical knowledge and entrepreneurial skills to strengthen Doumi’s foundation, but also a community of like-minded individuals striving to turn their passions into meaningful and impactful ventures.
Cherise Adams-Burnett

I am a London-based jazz vocalist, yoga teacher, and creative entrepreneur. In 2024, I founded ShadeINDIGO Ltd to connect music, fashion, and community through meaningful creative projects. Alongside an international career as a Jazz and Soul Artist, I am developing House of Coryna—a secondhand fashion and lifestyle brand inspired by the heritage of House of Fraser and the playfulness of Oliver Bonas. These concepts have taken shape through ShadeINDIGO’s musical showcases, House of Coryna’s summer pop-up shop, and a weekend residency at Brick Lane’s Backyard Market. Pursuing the MBA at Central Saint Martins and Birkbeck enables me to strengthen my business literacy and leadership practice while building a sustainable framework for cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Jordi M. Carter

I am Jordi M. Carter (he/him/his), a Caribbean-British theatre director from London. I hold a First Class Joint BA (Hons) in Drama and Film Studies from the University of Sussex and have worked with organisations across the UK—notably as a Co-Artistic Director/CEO aged 23, and through my first Board Trusteeship aged 24. My creative philosophy sees art and storytelling as a living dialogue between artists, communities, and the wider world, and values authenticity, truth-telling, and experimentation, while cultivating spaces where tradition and innovation can intersect. I am particularly interested in exploring how the relationship between creativity and business in theatre (and the wider arts sector) can prioritise elevating marginalised communities, sustain sociocultural conversation, and create more equitable conditions for future generations of artists to thrive. The pursuit of this Joint MBA at Central Saint Martins and Birkbeck is part of an effort to fortify and expand on my creative philosophy through strategy, systems- and design-thinking, with the ultimate intention to exercise impactful social engagement in my artistic practice and future cultural leadership.

Farida Igbadume

Originally from Atlanta, I have a passion for learning about people from all walks of life, creating community wherever I go. For over 10 years, I have coordinated the provision of critical medical care and social services for individuals with developmental disabilities through my family’s healthcare business. This experience, coupled with my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia and studies in sustainability, architecture and real estate at Columbia University and New York University, have shown me the power of social connection and community when guided by sustainable, empathic and innovative leadership. I firmly believe that the future of business is increasingly collaborative and interdisciplinary, especially for problem solving in complex fields such as healthcare. Through the Central Saint Martins MBA program, I aim to learn more about the impact of collaboration between the health, social care and creative industries, and explore how these interactions can create more impactful, sustainable change in both an organizational and individualistic sense.
