The DPS year is designed to equip students with practical tools to become change agents and informed practitioners in their respective fields.
BA Fashion and BA Fashion Communication students can choose to undertake opportunities both in the UK and internationally at prestigious luxury fashion houses, international publications, NGOs, start-ups, or working with artisans and small independent designers and creatives. For many, it becomes their first important step into the industry where they are encouraged to observe and critically analyse professional practice in the fashion industry.
For Fashion Design and Fashion Communication students, a placement experience is an opportunity beyond their artistic training to learn about business structures, values and how they can be part of the solution to global challenges.
Returning students complete their final year understanding how their strengths, values, principles and ambition connect with wider professional networks and equipt with an array of well-developed core, digital, technical and transferable skills.
