Last night, 21 graduating MA Fashion students unveiled their collections with two designers named the winners of the L’Oréal Professionnel Creative Award.

Across the pathways – Menswear, Womenswear, Knitwear and Textiles for Fashion – the work reflected the rigour in thinking, designing and making that is at the root of the course with a global reputation for excellence. In the year that marks the 20th anniversary of the College's collaboration with L'Oréal Professionnel, Leeann Huang and Sarah McCormack were both awarded the L’Oréal Professionnel Creative Award with collections that combine material re-use and transformation with high levels of craftsmanship.

Judge, Andrew Davis, of The Face, said:

"My criteria for judging the award was to try and find something new and original. Techniques and ways of manipulating materials into a finished garment. Both did this in very different ways"

“I am so proud of this year’s graduates. The students leave the course with collections that more than stand up to the level of creativity, innovation and skill shown by designers throughout fashion month. The support from industry, both UK and global through scholarships and bursaries, sponsorship, mentoring, paid projects and product, shows the value placed on the work produced by this course."
