The Costume Store is a great place for UAL students to live and a really popular choice especially for those studying at London College of Fashion.
The halls of residence are opposite North Acton tube station (Central Line), which offers quick and convenient access to many of the UAL College sites. The London College of Fashion site in Shepherd’s Bush is just 10 minutes away on the tube.
It is located on the site that once housed the BBC’s costume collection in North Acton, West London. It accommodates students in contemporary and stylish ensuite cluster flats and large self-contained studios.
The local area has a small supermarket, independent coffee shops, a local pub and various fast food take away restaurants.
Please note travel times are based on the nearest College building.

It should be noted that throughout the academic year 2021-22, and 2022-23, iQ (the owner of The Costume Store) will be carrying out significant external maintenance works to replace the current façade on the building. Please rest assured, the building has been certified as safe for occupation by industry experts.
Contractors will begin setting up at 8am, and works will take place on site from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. It will be done in phases to minimise any inconvenience to residents. There will, however, be disruption from noise and dust when contractors are working on the section of the building in which you live. Scaffolding will also be put up around the building which means all rooms will have less light than normal. You will be able to open windows, which have been installed with one way film to protect your privacy.
To compensate for any inconvenience you may encounter, we are offering all students a 18% reduction in rent for the duration of your contract at The Costume Store in the next academic year (2022-23) as a good will gesture. This reduction has already been applied to the prices advertised. For more information, ENGIE, the contractors who have been employed by iQ to carry out the works have created their own micro-site.
