A Central Saint Martins student has become one of only three people from across the University of the Arts London (UAL) to win a Deans’ Award for Study Abroad.

Ben Barron was recognised for his outstanding work on our BA Fine Art course, having been nominated by his tutors Mick Finch and Claire Nichols. At a presentation event, UAL’s Dean of Learning, Teaching and Enhancement, Professor Orr, gave thanks to Ben and the other winners for their inspiring approach.

Professor Orr said: “Today’s prize is not just recognition of excellence, but it is also a ‘thank you’ to each of the winners. By coming to UAL and displaying the best of yourselves, you have helped to create the right environment for your fellow students and also for your tutors. Across UAL we continue to be inspired by our students, both present and past. So thank you.”

Ben is studying at Central Saint Martins for two terms on the Study Abroad programme which allows overseas undergraduates to join UAL as visiting students. Ben’s home university is Bard College in the USA.
