A collection of bronze medals designed by BA Jewellery Design students and held by the British Art Medal Society has been generously given to the Museum and Study Collection.

The Student Medal Project started at Central Saint Martins in 1993 and consists of a second year competition to create contemporary art medals. Most are cast in bronze, but students have also used other materials. Angela Coward’s ‘I can resist everything except temptation’, for example, is cast both in bronze but reproduced in chocolate while Laura Bamber’s ‘Personal Medal’ incorporates eggshell, resin and gold paint.

The full collection is available to view via the Collection’s online catalogue or by a arranging a visit to the museum in person.
