As we prepare to open our doors to celebrate our graduating students in Central Saint Martins Shows, we share the nominations for this year's MullenLowe NOVA Awards for Fresh Creative Talent.

Work is nominated from across art, design, fashion and performance. There are projects that introduce alternative and less harmful production methods, from a recipe to create local avocados to one that harnesses the power of mushrooms to produce synthetic-looking bright pigments. Social justice runs throughout the nominations with artworks that highlight the innocent people killed by the death penalty to films that explore social barriers in creative education and childhood on social housing estates. Digital space re-occurs too, with the possibility giving opportunity to new fashion and representation unbound by the rules of physical worlds.

Congratulations to this year's nominated students:

The breadth of creative thinking is as diverse as the mediums the students use, and to say the work is incredibly inspiring is an understatement. It’s important for me to share this work with a wider audience and make it accessible for everyone through our YourNOVA People’s Choice initiative. It’s an honour to be able share the joy and wonder of unbridled creativity with the far corners of the world
