Metaphonica, an annual celebration that sees experimental art, performance and music collide, returns to The Street this week. In light of the current political landscape, the theme is ‘songs of protest and resistance’.

Watch our short interview with Dan White, BA Fine Art alum and curator of Metaphonica, as he discusses this year’s highlights, what we can look forward to and the thinking behind the event.

“I was approached three years ago to start the project and every year we’ve done it we’ve tried to be a bit more adventurous, tried to hone in a little further towards what the project is about. This year we felt like Metaphonica had a wider context and after being at the marches against various nasty things we decided it might be an interesting time to incorporate the idea of protest and using the stage for more conceptual works… Basically,  to offer the students a platform to comment more directly through their practices and performances”.

Metaphonica III takes place on Thursday 9 March, visit the event page to  book your tickets.
