The Green Trail Award celebrates graduating projects that respond to the climate and biodiversity emergency through innovative, regenerative design. Recognising work that extends the life of luxury hotel linen, reuses waste clay, and transforms dates into wearable contemporary jewelry. All this while championing creative solutions for a more environmentally responsible future.
Since the partnership with LVMH was renewed, there is now 1 winner and 1 runner-up from each school. The prize money is now £5,000 for winners and £1,000 for runners-up.
The Maison/0 Green Trail highlights projects that champion and innovate for nature by our graduating students across design disciplines at Central Saint Martins.

S School winner: Eva May Andree Xiste, MA Design for Industry 5.0
Eva May Andree Xiste received the Green Trail Award for ‘Pumula Hotel Slippers’, a circular alternative to the billions of disposable hotel slippers discarded each year. Crafted from reclaimed luxury hotel linens, the washable, reusable and recyclable slippers integrate with existing hotel laundry systems, reducing waste, lowering carbon emissions and extending the life of materials already in circulation. By rethinking every stage of the product lifecycle, the project demonstrates how design can transform an everyday hospitality item into a regenerative system.
S School runner-up: Louis Stevenson, BA Ceramic Design
Runner-up Louis Stevenson was recognised for ‘Vernacular Ceramics’, a project that reimagines ceramic production through the reuse of waste clay from London's studios and excavation sites. Working with reclaimed materials and recycled moulds, Stevenson explores clay as an active collaborator while demonstrating how discarded resources can become functional ceramic objects. The project highlights the environmental impact of ceramic waste and encourages more thoughtful material practices within the industry.

M School winner: Louise McArthur, MA Regenerative Design
Louise McArthur received the M School Green Trail Award for ‘I Am the Peatland’, a flax-led material practice rooted in the peatlands of Northern England. Through sculptural textiles, natural dyes and slow making processes, the project explores ecological restoration, species decline and the cultural histories of landscapes altered by extraction and agriculture. The work demonstrates how regenerative design can foster deeper relationships between materials, place and environmental stewardship.
M School runner-up: Madhawi Alzuabi, BA Jewellery Design
Runner-up Madhawi Alzuabi was recognised for transforming discarded date pits into a contemporary jewellery material. Combining bio-resin with date seeds sourced from her family's farm, her practice reconsiders ideas of value by elevating an overlooked agricultural by-product into a refined material for jewellery and objects. Through experimentation with carving, casting and colour processing, the project demonstrates the creative potential of waste while challenging assumptions about preciousness and sustainability.
