Central Saint Martins prepares to welcome designjunction and the London Design Festival to King’s Cross.

King’s Cross becomes an official design destination within the London Design Festival for the first time and with it, designjunction make its home in and around the College from 22 to 25 September. With over 200 designers and companies across the site, designjunction brings installations, product launches and workshops across four main exhibitions showing both established and emerging design. It’s a local affair with the launch of the King’s Cross Creative Quarter, a celebration of design, food, culture and business with a downloadable map guiding visitors around area’s highlights.

Alongside designjunction, visitors will be able to see the bright and boldest of Central Saint Martins’ design graduates in the Lethaby Gallery’s Brain Waves exhibition. The College’s contribution to the London Design Festival presents over 40 thought-provoking projects, from speculations about our material futures to explorations of the contemporary digital world.

Brain Waves is pleased to have support and sponsorship from a range of companies this year, and we are delighted that The Montcalm Luxury Hotels London is sponsoring the exhibition. Keeping things local, Precis Group – which owns local company Access Self Storage on Euston Road as well as The Montcalm Hotels – is particularly energised by the changes around King’s Cross, as its representative, Faaiza Lalji, says: “King’s Cross is an incredibly exciting place and is one of London’s artistic and cultural hubs with Central Saint Martins at the centre of it. We are delighted to be supporting this innovative exhibition showcasing the next generation of designers as part of the London Design Festival.”
