Jewellers EC One have named our BA Jewellery Design graduate Hoonik Chang as winner of their Unsigned Platinum competition.

Jos Skeates, EC One Managing Director, said: “Hoonik’s work is outstanding and we are delighted to be able to help him in the next stage of his career. We love seeing the huge amount of creativity from our entrants and it is a privilege to be able to work with such talented individuals.”

Hoonik was one of four up-and-coming jewellers selected in a public vote. The finalists then had to present their work to industry experts – John Pearce from Johnny Rocket, Maia Adams from Adorn Insights, Kate Baxter from The Cut, and David Webster from Stephen Webster.

Now in its fifth year, Unsigned Platinum is an annual graduate award that looks for the best emerging jewellery talent.

Hoonik’s prize includes a year’s mentoring by EC One’s founders and the chance to showcase work within the store. He will also receive manufacturing advice from EC One’s team of goldsmiths, as well as a free place on The Goldsmiths’ Company’s prestigious business short course.
