The University of Arts London Foundation Diploma in Art & Design has been awarded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted

The Foundation course, delivered at Central Saint Martins and Camberwell College of Arts, achieved the ‘Outstanding’ grade in all areas of the inspection. University of the Arts London is the first to be awarded this highest grade under the new inspection framework and the only one to gain that it across all four areas of the inspection, namely:

  • Effectiveness of Leadership and Management
  • Teaching, Learning and Assessment
  • Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare
  • Outcomes for learners

Nigel Carrington, Vice-Chancellor at UAL, commented:

This is a well-deserved achievement which reflects our excellent teaching, the calibre of our students and the dedication of all our staff involved in planning, supporting and delivering our teaching. It is the result of a lot of a hard work by our staff, especially those involved in the management and delivery of the FAD provision over recent years as we have moved to a more focused delivery.
