Staff and students take part in LVMH’s 25th anniversary of environmental commitment.

To celebrate 25 years since the official establishment of its Environment Department, LVMH presented two evenings of talks and presentations in Paris called Future LIFE (standing for LVMH Initiatives for the Environment). As the only design school invited to collaborate, Central Saint Martins not only shared the work of its students but also Carole Collet, the inaugural CSM LVMH Director of Sustainable Innovation, gave a keynote address.

This 25th anniversary marks LVMH’s pioneering commitment to the environment which started at a time when very few companies engaged with sustainability. The evening showcased a wide range of successful sustainable initiatives across the Maisons, and celebrated the new LIFE programme, which will leverage environmental expertise to target specific, ambitious sustainable goals across the group for the short, medium and long term. It was great to have our students contributing to the event to demonstrate how sustainability can be driven by creativity.”

In front of an audience comprising LVMH’s 70 Maisons – from Marc Jacobs and Celine to Moet & Chandon – as well as selected invited guests, recent BA Fashion graduates and current students presented their work on the catwalk. As part of a live project, students from MA Narrative Environments and BA Architecture designed ‘Goutez la solution’ a series of installations inviting guests to taste, view and learn more about LVMH’s ongoing LIFE programme.
