Congratulations to Grace Wales Bonner, BA Fashion Design with Marketing (now Fashion Design: Communication) graduate, on her appointment as Creative Director of Menswear at Hermès.

A 2014 graduate and winner of the L’Oréal Professionnel Young Designer Award, Grace has become one of the most influential voices in contemporary fashion. Through her namesake label, she has built an international reputation for work that weaves together craftsmanship, culture and identity with detail and precision.

Grace will succeed Véronique Nichanian, who steps down after 37 years in the role, and will present her first Hermès collection in January 2027.

Grace Wales Bonner, 2014
Grace is an exceptionally intelligent designer whose work tells stories that so few others have explored. And as a woman of colour succeeding in a field still dominated by white men, her achievement feels especially meaningful. I’m so thrilled — it’s about time Grace receives the recognition she deserves.

— Sarah Gresty BA Fashion Course Leader, Central Saint Martins

Since graduating from Central Saint Martins, Grace has received multiple accolades, including Emerging Menswear Designer at the British Fashion Awards (2015) and the LVMH Young Designer Prize (2016). Her work has been exhibited at the Serpentine Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum, and she has also lectured at Parsons School of Design in New York. Her collections are stocked internationally at Dover Street Market, Selfridges, 10 Corso Como, and Joyce, among others, a testament to her enduring impact on global fashion.
