Charles Jeffrey, MA Fashion Womenswear, CSM, and Jackie Hong, BA Fashion Womenswear, CSM, are joint winners of the 2104 Nina de York Fashion Illustration Scholarship.
Charles and Jackie will each receive £500 which will be used to fund the development and presentation of their final collections.
The Scholarship, which has been running for over 20 years, celebrates excellence and innovation in contemporary fashion illustration and is open to fashion, textiles and jewellery students at Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion.
Of this year’s winners, the judging panel, Anne Smith Dean of Academic Programmes, CSM; Paul Mc Nicholl, Dean of School of Design and Technology, LCF; and renowned fashion illustrator and designer, Julie Verhoeven, commented:
“Jackie’s drawings demonstrate a real love of fashion. Her illustrations have a bold and innovative narrative style, and there is a real confidence in her use of media and composition.”
“Charles’ illustrations also have a really distinctive handwriting with a brave and confident approach to mark making and unexpected use of proportions. They ooze fashion and joie de vivre.”
