Bookworks

This month, Luminous Books is hosting a showcase from London based independent art publisher Book Works including publications, special editions and a poster project.

“Established in 1984, Book Works is an art commissioning organisation specialising in artists’ books, spoken word and printed matter. We are dedicated to supporting new work by emerging artists, and our projects are initiated by invitation, open submission, and through guest-curated projects. Book Works consists of a publishing and commissioning department; and a studio specialising in binding, box-making and multiples.”

They have also invited Anagram Books, a new independent distribution company set up by former CSM student Adeline Mannarini in 2012 to select a collection of art and design books  exploring typography and its use in artists’ books in response to the current exhibition in the Lethaby Gallery: Lettering: Objects, Examples, Practice.

Catch these collections alongside new and vintage design and typography books and magazines including publications by CSM Professor Phil Baines and examples of his cover designs for Penguin at Luminous Books until 12th April 2014.

The bookshop is based at the front of the Lethaby Gallery on Granary Square.
