Thanking L’Oréal Professional for 15 years of support for the show as well as technicians and students, Willie said:

I am honoured to work with all of you and all of the students in every show since 1992, I am honoured to be associated with you.

BA Fashion: Knitwear student Soyoung Park was announced as the winner of this year’s prestigious L’Oréal Professionnel Young Talent Award, with Yuhan Wang (Womenswear) and Adnan Salman Jalal (Knitwear) named as the runners up by a judging panel consisting of Charles Jeffrey, Grace Wales Bonner, Jefferson Hack, Susannah Frankel and Lutz.

Soyoung Park’s description of her collection:

If we have eyes that can see from above, like the tallest man in the world, a surveillance camera, a bird and even the creator, what would we see? People we encounter everyday on the street might look different from their point of view. Would they look just weird? Or could we find some unusual aesthetics? I looked down at the people passing by and captured that moment. Ordinary moment could be interesting from the place where the observers are at.

This year also saw the return of Encore, the students’ guerrilla fashion show which appears outside the College providing an inclusive platform for all third year BA Fashion students to present their collections.
