I am the life drawing tutor on the course and I also deliver related drawing workshops. I worked in the British Animation Industry for thirty years as an animator and animation artist, including character design and backgrounds, on numerous commercials, feature films and TV series.
My passion is for drawing the human, or animal form and capturing its vitality and movement within the space it occupies, using short poses for gesture drawing. I strongly believe in the discipline of observing the figure and understanding its construction, motion and emotion, in order to convincingly draw it.
I have loved teaching life drawing for many years, finding it a natural extension to my work in the Animation Industry. I have taught life drawing at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication, in addition to my own local classes.
