Biography

Coloured by memories of India and Europe, I reimagine ordinary objects to retell stories of moments that transcend boundaries of geography. My works aims to present audiences with a recognisable visual that sparks instant curiosity. Born of the habit of collecting stories my work often manifests as series of forms that are iterations of a broad theme, which often have nuances of wider socio-political current events. It is the giving of form to my subconscious memory of encounters and happenings.

I graduated from the University of Calcutta, India, before joining Central Saint Martin's where I graduated in 2016 with a first class honours in Ceramic Design. Firing from a site with century-old ceramic activity, I place my practice at heritage brickworks HG Matthew in rural Buckinghamshire where I am able to challenge the scale and form associated with ceramics. The year of my London solo debut in 2019 coincided with showing at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. My show Freedom’s Flight at Willesden Gallery (2021) in London was in support of women engaged in front line Covid relief in rural India.  Much sought after for their singularity my works are held in private collections in USA, Europe and Asia.
