Biography

Sally Collins is a jewellery maker, collector, curator and educator who has been working in the contemporary jewellery field since 2008, after graduating with an MA from Birmingham’s School of Jewellery.

Sally’s passion is for creating jewellery pieces that explore an overly decorative and hyper ornamented ‘Superfrilly’ aesthetic, which question the role of collecting and our intrinsic desire to possess things in an increasingly overcrowded and fast fashion focused society.

Sally has worked as a lecturer within the Jewellery field since 2010, lecturing at The School of Jewellery at Birmingham City University, Dublin College of Art and Design, HSG Dusseldorf, HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design, Belfast University and mostly recently as the Head of Academy for the FE provision at The British Academy of Jewellery.
