I’ve been MA Fashion Communication Course Leader at Central Saint Martins since 2016, although my connection with CSM dates back further as Tutor (now Pathway Leader) in charge of MA Fashion Journalism since 1999. My career started out in newspapers (The Observer and The Independent) and then I pivoted to digital in the first boom, working as Editor-in-Chief of global trends forecasting company WGSN (1999-2006) and Senior Vice President Content of trends intelligence agency (2010-13). Most recently, I’ve been an Associate Editor at Vogue Business (2020-present).

I have lectured worldwide, including Tsinghua and Donghua universities in China, and over the years have contributed to many titles including SHOWstudio, The Times, Vogue, GQ and Vanity Fair. I have worked as a copywriter with the Hugo Boss design team in Metzingen, Germany, since the 1990s. I am co-author with Brenda Polan of The Great Fashion Designers (second edition published 2020 by Bloomsbury).
