Biography
Rhea Storr is a visual artist/filmmaker, researcher and programmer of artist’s moving image, interested in the intersection of Black aesthetics, moving image and analogue film.
She was previously a co-director of an artist’s co-operative ‘not nowhere’, led by Black and PoC creatives. She holds a PhD from Goldsmiths in Media, Communications and Cultural studies and was also educated at the Royal College of Art and Oxford University.
Rhea is a trustee of Alchemy Film and Arts, prior to which she was a film programmer for their annual film festival. Her work has been shown internationally in festivals and galleries including BFI London Film Festival, New York Film Festival, MoMA Doc Fortnight, Whitechapel Gallery, Barbican, Art on the Underground and Lisson Gallery. In 2020 Storr won the Aesthetica Art Prize, is a recipient of the Royal Photographic Society Award for Creative contribution in Moving Image and in 2026 is nominated for the Jarman Award.
