Biography
I have been an Associate Lecturer on BA Culture, Curation and Criticism for nearly ten years, and also teach on the MA. As an arts journalist, I have written about crime fiction, music, film and television for a range of publications, including the Guardian, the Observer, Sight and Sound, NME and the Independent. At present I write mostly on classical music and opera, reviewing regularly for the Evening Standard and Opera magazine. I am also proud of having co-edited, in the distant past, Pressure Drop, the world’s first reggae fanzine; and a fellow journalist once told me that Keith Richards carried around a copy of an article I wrote entitled “Paranoid Sex in Sixties Soul.”
