Biography

Prior to joining the MRes course in 2015, I had completed my undergraduate studies in English at The University of York and I was currently studying French language and literature. As my undergraduate dissertation explored interdisciplinary aspects of poetry – specifically focusing on visual media – I wanted to pursue my Master’s studies in art history and philosophy.

While on the course, I especially enjoyed focusing on psychoanalytic thought, poststructuralism and deconstruction. The latter came to form the basis for my dissertation which considered the works of the American artist Bruce Nauman. I now intend to study for a PhD at The School of Modern Languages and Cultures at The University of Glasgow, writing on the poet Stéphane Mallarmé and artist James McNeill Whistler. I will also continue my freelancing career as a writer and translator.
