Biography

I am a spatial practitioner working at the intersection of urban design and spatial justice. I am the Stage 1 Leader on M ARCH: Architecture and I am also the current Principal Urban Designer for the London Borough of Harrow, where I oversee design quality. Having previously worked in architectural practice in London and Rio de Janeiro, I have transitioned into the public sector, formerly working as policy advisor for the Ministry of Housing (now DLUHC), following completion of my Architecture Masters at Central Saint Martins. In parallel, I have also worked in adventure play, previously serving as architect-in-residence at Glamis Adventure Playground, Tower Hamlets. This has provided me with a unique insight into the rights of the child, autonomy and control in the city and landscape.

As an artist with an interest in social histories and land use, I recently undertook a 2023 residency with Alice Yard (Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago) to investigate creolised traditions among the Caribbean Indian diaspora and has exhibited other work internationally, including for Travessias (Rio de Janeiro) and Shanghai Urban Space Art Season. My current research focus is centred on the cultural dimensions and histories of land, ecology and extraction.

As a writer, my work has been published by Goldsmiths/Routledge ('Jaywalking is a Fantasy Crime') and I regularly write for leading print and digital media publications including The Architectural Review, The Observer and It's Freezing in LA. In 2022, I was selected as one of eight emerging practitioners for The Design Museum's 'Manifestos: Architecture for a New Generation' and am a New Architecture Writers alumnus.
