Biography

Emma studied Painting at Falmouth School of Art before gaining her MFA in Fine Art Media at the Slade in 2002. She was selected for the 'new contemporaries' in 2003.

Emma was a founding member of Gasworks Artists’ Studios. She has exhibited extensively in the UK and abroad, and has attended residencies in Budapest and Cape Town.

Her short films, photographic and book works involve chance encounters, accidents and the unforeseeable. She uses humour and the absurd to question and disrupt hierarchies and value systems that have become normalised. Her films have been screened in several international festivals and at the ICA, London. She has recently joined Peacock Projects, an artist-run organisation in south London.
