I am an Associate Lecturer and I teach life drawing on the MA Character Animation course.
I was born in Cumbria, I began my art education at City and Guilds Art School and went on to study at the Royal College of Art. In 1984 I graduated with an MA in Illustration and was awarded the RCA Drawing Prize for my drawings of the Arctic and Papua New Guinea. For twenty years I continued to travel, exhibit my paintings and to teach drawing in colleges throughout the UK, in the U.S and Zimbabwe.
In 2002 I returned to college and completed an MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins where I was short listed for The Red Mansion Prize and highly commended for The Cecil Collins Drawing prize. In 2011 I completed my PhD Sounding Out (Drawing in response to the outside environment) at Camberwell (UAL) 2011.
