Biography

I am an artist, filmmaker, facilitator, lecturer and performance maker. I specialise in participatory and social practice and have a particular focus on intergenerational exchange and storytelling. I explore social, political, and environmental issues, through the lens of everyday stories and experiences. I am inspired by the possibility of transformation within individuals, groups and audiences through artistic practice and expression.

I am an associate artist with Magic Me, the UK’s leading intergenerational arts organisation. I am also an Associate Lecturer at Central School of Speech and Drama, as well as BA Performance: Design and Practice at Central Saint Martins.

I am part of the Breaks and Joins collective, formed by Sue Mayo, and together we explore mending and repair as an act of resistance. I am also one half of the company Varjack-Lowry, making performances, films, digital experiences, and workshops alongside performance artist Paula Varjack, and together we have been associate artists with London Pleasance and recipients of Barbican OpenLab.

My work has been presented at galleries, theatres and festivals around the world including Tate Modern, British Film Institute, Women of the World Festival, London Short Film Festival, Battersea Arts Centre, Whitechapel Gallery, GIFT Festival, Summerhall, London Pleasance, Paper Gallery in Kosovo, and Charcoal in Hong Kong.

My work has been screened on BBC, ITV and Sky and I have been awarded ‘Best Music Video Director’ at Canned Film Festival and nominated for the Audience Choice Award at the Berlin British Shorts Film Festival.
