Biography

Dr Becky Court is Dean of Academic Strategy at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, where she leads the development of the College's academic strategy, curriculum transformation and academic enhancement. Working across the College and the wider University, she provides strategic leadership for academic planning, quality enhancement and the development of future-focused models of creative education.

Becky is also a Reader in Creative Education whose research explores how creative education can respond to complex social, technological and environmental challenges through interdisciplinary curriculum design, relational pedagogy and collaborative practice. Her work examines how curriculum, pedagogy and creative practice can be understood as interconnected relational systems, generating new approaches to learning, teaching and academic leadership within art and design education.

Alongside her strategic leadership, Becky maintains an active practice-based research profile, building on a background in fine art, photography, curatorial practice and exhibition-making. She has led institution-wide curriculum transformation projects, contributed to the UK Quality Code, published and presented internationally on creative education and works with sector organisations including Advance HE, CHEAD, NAFAE and QAA. She is particularly interested in the relationship between creative practice, educational innovation and institutional change.

Rebecca completed her PhD by Practice at Central Saint Martins and is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE.
