Biography

I'm a Senior Lecturer in Digital Futures at Central Saint Martins, and I find myself easily distracted by the challenge of supporting a diverse range of people to implement technology in personal and impactful ways in their everyday lives.

Before trying to stay relevant in London, I was a Professor in the USA, where I co-founded a Masters in Design Engineering at Brown University and directed the Masters of Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design.

I've always been drawn to learning in the complex area of Civic Innovation, working closely with the Boston Mayor’s Office of New Urban Mechanics MONUM. Beyond that, my research spans Personal Teaming and the Science of Creativity which occasionally leads me to pull overly complicated objects into existence for exhibitions and commissions.
