Biography
Peony Gent is an illustrator, experimental comics maker, and poet. Her work often focuses on concepts surrounding collective memory and the power of poetry as an act of resistance.
Drawing lies at the core of her practice, where she uses a quick and loose hand to capture the essence of a subject. Her work aims to elevate the overlooked in life, both through storytelling and a stylised celebration of form.
She was the Illustrator in Residence for the House of Illustration in 2020, and has worked for the likes of the V&A, Frieze, SkyArts and Derwent. Her work has been covered by It's Nice That, Varoom, The Comics Journal, Solrad and more."
