Biography

Becky Allen is an artist and lecturer, working in mixed media across drawing and textile techniques. Her practice and research are dedicated to expressing her fascination with ‘line’, which she has explored in various contexts around the world. She has been an artist in residence at Palazzo Monti, Villa Lena and Centro de las Artes de San Agustín, and was awarded a Developing your Creative Practice grant from Arts Council England to work with communities in Central and North America. Her work has been exhibited at Meusums West, COB Gallery, Jerwood Space, Gallery 46, Carreau du Temple and Mana Contemporary. In 2017,18 and 20, her drawings were shortlisted for the Jerwood and Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prizes. She has also produced artworks in collaboration with Cubitts and London Design Festival.

She continues to lead workshops that combine drawing with mindful practices for clients such as Chanel, Villa Lena Art Foundation, and charity Kissing It Better.
