Applications are now open for participants for a new Photovoice project with LCC Academic Support, which will run from January to May 2022.

Are you a first-year undergraduate student at LCC? Would you like to shape and take part in a participatory action research project? Would you like to enhance your understanding of photographic and artistic research methods? Are you interested in helping to influence policy about how LCC students learn?

LCC Academic Support are seeking participants for a new Photovoice project, which will run from January to May 2022.

Photovoice is a method of participatory action research. Participants collaborate to refine a research focus related to their educational experiences, then work independently to produce a series of photographic images related to that focus.

In dialogue with others, you will discuss your photographs to understand how they relate to your educational experiences. The work will result in an exhibition (date to be confirmed depending on the pandemic) and/or publications.

No specialist photographic skills are necessary! This opportunity is open to all first-year undergraduate students at LCC.

One of the key outcomes from the project will be to help influence policy at LCC. In addition, participants will refine their skills of research, visual literacy, collaboration and communication.

Participants who complete the project will receive a £75 voucher for art supplies.

If you’re a first-year undergraduate student at LCC who would like to help shape policy, get to know other students who are interested in influencing change, and develop your skills, please apply!

Apply for Photovoice by 29 November, or to find out more before making an application, please write to academicsupport@lcc.arts.ac.uk.
