Graphic Design for 16 to 18 Year Olds
A practical and intensive course suitable for enthusiastic and open-minded beginners with a keen interest in graphic design. By engaging with projects, you will develop and improve fundamental graphic design skills. You will broaden your understanding of graphic design and extend your practice. Computers will not be used on this course, but there will be a strong focus on creativity and generation of ideas.
Work produced during this course may form part of a portfolio for application to graphic design courses at foundation or degree levels.
During the week you will be required to show high levels of commitment in the production of extensive amounts of work. In response to set design briefs, through the production of original, exciting and innovative work, you will cover the following areas:
- development of visual research
- concept generation and concept development
- presentation of final design solutions.
Entry requirements: You must be at least 16 and no older than 18 years old.

Please note: This course is for students aged 16 to 18 years old only
Ignacia is an illustrator and designer based in London working primarily with print and drawing. Her projects vary from editorial illustration to branding to 3D objects. She has worked for Penguin books, Editions Zulma, Wild in art, Scoop magazine and WPP among others.
She graduated from the Graphic Design course at Central Saint Martins and is currently an associate lecturer on the Foundation course.
William is an illustrator and designer with a particular interest in the use of drawing as a recording and documenting method. He has a varied practise that includes working with print, spatial intervention and three-dimensional objects. He is a graduate of the Royal College of Art and an Associate Lecturer at the Foundation course at Central Saint Martins.

- A few colour pencils & pens
- Pritt stick
- Metal safety ruler
- Digital Camera if you have one (one on your phone is adequate)
