A portfolio is a selection of professional and personal works and projects completed over the years. It should show the real you - how you think, work, and what you love. If you are an ambitious creative wanting to stand out, a strong portfolio is essential.

Through a combination of lectures, case studies and practical exercises, the Portfolio Preparation for Art Direction Short Course offers students invaluable tips on how to build a strong portfolio for their work and/or studies.

During this 25-hour course students explore the process of producing an effective portfolio, from selection and development to design and presentation.

Who should attend?

This course is aimed at art directors, creative directors, senior designers, photographers, illustrators, other creatives and entrepreneurs interested in finding their own voice and being able to present a striking portfolio. It is also an excellent fit for individuals who want to work in the creative industries and learn more about portfolio preparation.

By the end of the course students should:

  • Be able to build and develop a professional creative portfolio

  • Be familiar with techniques of portfolio presentation

Required materials:

  • A portfolio folder / album. Suggested size: A4. Alternatively, A5, A3 or custom sizes (e.g.11x14 inches)
  • In addition, we suggest students start selecting a customizable web space (Squarespace or similar)
